Let’s begin with a basic understanding of breath. There are two types of breath: First is automatic breath which is our “subconscious breath”. You use this while you’re eating, sleeping, probably while you’re reading this text.
The second type is “Conscious” breath or “Breathwork”. In order to engage in this type of breathing, you take your breath off auto-pilot and direct it to perform a specific breath pattern.
In the “Conscious” breath or “Breathwork” category, there are two types: first type is a breathwork pattern you may access every day, several times a day. The second is an “on occasion” breathwork pattern, such as Transformational Breathwork. These “on occasion” breathwork patterns are quite intense and it’s recommended you only practice this type of breathwork with a Certified Breathwork Facilitator.
In today’s fast-paced world, most people operate predominantly in sympathetic nervous system mode — constantly on high alert and in fight, flight or freeze. Transformational BreathWork offers a natural way to reset the central nervous system and tap into our innate ability to find balance and to release pent-up emotions judgment free.
This intense breathwork practice is a powerful tool that works by attracting and releasing tensions, anxieties, and held-up emotions through the process of inhalation and exhalation.
Imagine this type of breathing as a magnet, drawing in all those stagnant thoughts and feelings with each inhale. Then, with every exhale, purging them from the body. During the inhale phase, we receive what we desire in our life. During the exhale phase is where true transformation occurs.
By combining the exhale with Vagus Toning ( please see video library for demonstration of Vagus Toning) we activate the parasympathetic nervous system responsible for calming the body and allowing even more of these stored emotions to be released.
It’s important to note that this practice encourages a non-judgmental approach. It allows letting go without analyzing, judging, or critiquing ourselves or our emotions. Our breath knows that judgment only hinders growth.
Incorporating breathwork into one's routine yields transformative benefits that extend far beyond momentary relaxation or stress relief — it becomes an all-encompassing journey towards self-discovery.
By embracing different conscious breathing techniques regularly —whether it be “daily” or “on-occasion” — we embark upon a path where limitations are non-existent.

Dragonfly Breathwork provides in-person and virtual transformational breathwork sessions that provide each participating individual an opportunity to connect to "healing consciousness". Also known as “Active Meditation”, this type of breathwork will allow one to connect with their own higher consciousness and tap into the universal intelligence we all yearn for.
We begin with a deep cleaning of stored energy and gradually move you into breathwork that continues to expand your mental, physical and spiritual being.
As a Martial Arts Master once said, "it is not how quickly I react to danger or threat, it’s how quickly I return to my center."
The intention of Dragonfly BreathWork is to arm each participant with breathwork patterns that allow them to quickly get back to their center.

The word Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means “wheel” or “cycle”.
At Dragonfly Breathwork, we expand the importance of clearing and opening the twelve spiritual chakras. During a Cathartic Transformational breathwork session, we utilize the 12- point SPIRITUAL CHAKRA healing system according to Elizabeth Joyce in her book, The New Spiritual Chakras and How To Work With Them.
This powerful approach turns the lens inward, allowing us to fully harness the profound potential of healing. By employing the Spiritual Chakra system, we direct our focus towards one specific area of our body at a time, moving slowly upward through the body and into the spiritual realm.
As we access each chakra point, we tap into "healing consciousness," enabling a deep reconnection between body, mind, spirit, and ultimately Source itself. We acknowledge that this Source could be God, the Universe or any Higher Power that you personally resonate with; it’s an individual choice made by each participant when they feel called to seek connection, guidance, and protection from their chosen source.
Remarkably enough, these crucial Chakras hold deep-seated ties to their respective glands that make up the Endocrine System. These glands are responsible for creating these essential hormones within our bodies' innermost sanctums. It comes as no surprise that their positions correspond precisely to where these vibrant energy centers reside along and around the spinal column.

In Latin, the word “Breath” takes on a profound meaning as “Spiritus”, and it’s with utmost reverence that we embrace this concept in our sessions.
Within each Dragonfly session, we encourage you to extend an invitation to your Higher Power, whether you refer to him as God or use your language that resonates with your personal beliefs. It’s from a deep spiritual perspective that we invite you to seek divine guidance and protection on your journey.
As each individual's understanding and interpretation of spirituality may vary, we honor and respect all paths by offering this sacred space for spiritual guidance in whatever form speaks truest to your soul.
By inviting individuals to connect with their Higher Power through their own unique lens and acknowledging the importance of spiritual guidance, Dragonfly Breathwork creates an environment where individuals may freely explore their faith and belief systems without judgment or limitations.
In doing so, you are able to tap into a wellspring of wisdom beyond yourself — a source that offers solace, clarity, strength, and enlightenment throughout your life's journey.
Are you ready to embark on a transformative journey through the power of breathwork?
Allow me to be your knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide as we explore both types of breathwork: "On-Occasion" and "Daily".
